Teodoro Baù & Andrea Buccarella
Teodoro Baù – viol
Andrea Buccarella – harpsichord
Teodoro Baù is winner of the latest MA Competition of Bruges in 2021 and Diapason d’Òr October 2022 together with Andrea Buccarella for the latest album Arcangelo Corelli – Sonatas for viola da gamba & continuo entirely dedicated to Corelli. They made their debut a couple of months ago at the Vienna Musikverein in the chamber music season, with live Radio, with enormous success. Regularly invited to the most prestigious early music seasons in Europe.
“Since Sonata No. 11 which opens the anthology, the ear is captured by the full sound of the instrument which illuminates the smallest details, tracing the road in a sort of framed freedom and leaning on an almost orchestral harpsichord. The grave, prelude and adagio allow Baù to unfold large arches in which his science of ornament, which owes much to reading Geminiani, reaches such a degree of elegance as to make one believe he is rediscovering Corelli. Refinement does not exclude an authoritative and scathing arc, as in Follia, which does not even hesitate to rethink the melodic line in the allegros or jigs. (…) An important milestone in the history of Corellian interpretation without any doubt and a young interpreter that we can no longer do without!” Frédéric Degroote
The prestigious Diapason D’Or crowns the commitment of an intense research work, adding another illustrious recognition in the artistic careers of this young and already extraordinary duo.
