Biography

Since 2006, GnuQuartet has released seven albums featuring original compositions and innovative arrangements, while also contributing to the writing, arranging and recording of numerous albums, film soundtracks and television themes, including the theme music for Pane quotidiano on Rai 3.

Stefano Cabrera, Roberto Izzo, Francesca Rapetti and Raffaele Rebaudengo have performed hundreds of concerts throughout Italy and around the world, appearing in countries including Mexico, France, South Korea and Spain. They have also been featured on major Italian television and radio programmes such as Che tempo che fa, Quelli che il calcio, X Factor, Parla con me, Domenica In, Il Tornasole, L'altro lato di Radio 2, Caterpillar, Radio 1 Musica, RMC Classic and MTV Day. Their festival appearances include the Sanremo Music Festival, European Jazz Expo, Sildajazz Festival (Haugesund), Carinthian Summer Music Festival, Venezia Jazz, MITO SettembreMusica, Festival del Mediterraneo, I Suoni delle Dolomiti, the Concerto del Primo Maggio, OnDance, and the Lucca Summer Festival.

As soloists, they have performed with leading orchestras including Roma Sinfonietta, the Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra, the Haydn Orchestra, the Orchestra della Magna Grecia, the Orchestra of the Carlo Felice Theatre Foundation, OFT, Artem Orchestra, and the Gaga Symphony Orchestra.

The ensemble has appeared in many of Italy's most prestigious concert venues, including La Fenice, Teatro Bellini, Teatro Petruzzelli, and Teatro Regio, as well as iconic open-air stages such as Taormina, the Baths of Caracalla, and Ravello. They have also performed in major arenas, including the Forum di Assago with Ermal Meta, and at Rome's Stadio Olimpico and Milan's San Siro Stadium with Negramaro.

GnuQuartet's musical curiosity has led to dozens of eclectic and unexpected collaborations with artists ranging from Francesco De Gregori and The Bloody Beetroots to Francesco Bearzatti, Afterhours, Diodato, Ivan Lins and Subsonica. These experiences have become an invaluable source of both artistic inspiration and shared humanity.
