NURIE CHUNG

Biography

At the age of 16, Nurie Chung won Second Prize at the 56th Premio Paganini International Violin Competition (2021) in Genoa. He also received two special awards: one for Best Performance of the commissioned work and another as the youngest finalist.
He currently studies with Professor Boris Kuschnir in Vienna. Until March 2023, he was a student of the late NamYun Kim at the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts.
This year, he gave a recital in Seoul on January 18, broadcast on February 2 and 9, and performed in Dubai on February 15.
Throughout 2023, he presented numerous concerts across Europe, primarily in Italy, including the Stradivari Festival in Cremona (broadcast by Cremona1 TV/Radio), performances in Piran (Slovenia, broadcast by RTV – Radio Television Slovenia), Palermo in October, and Padua and Carpi (Modena) in November.
In 2022, he performed in Dubai, Malta, Seoul, Genoa, Mantua, and Koper (Slovenia, broadcast by RTV – Radio Television Slovenia).
He has won numerous international and national competitions. In 2019, he received First Prize in the concerto competition at Morningside Music Bridge in Boston. In 2016, he won First Prize at Il Piccolo Violino Magico in Italy, and in the same year also secured First Prize in all categories of the Euroasia Young Violin Competition 2016 in Japan.
