PATTI80SMITH80

Following the extraordinary success of last year’s world tour celebrating Horses, which sold out across the globe—including in Italy within hours of tickets going on sale—Patti Smith returns to Italy for another special occasion: celebrating her 80th birthday together with the Italian audience.
The event will take place on July 27, 2026, in one of Rome’s most iconic and evocative venues, the Circus Maximus.
The concert is organized by the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma in collaboration with Vincenzo Berti and Gianluca Bonanno for Ventidieci, and produced by IMARTS – International Music and Arts.
Joining Patti Smith on stage will be the Patti Smith Quartet, featuring longtime collaborator Tony Shanahan on keyboards and bass, her son Jackson Smith on guitar, and Seb Rochford on drums.
The performance will bring together the songs that have defined and shaped the international musical landscape, delivered through Patti Smith’s unmistakable voice and the poetic power of lyrics deeply influenced by literary figures such as Arthur Rimbaud and Charles Baudelaire, whose work has inspired her since the very beginning of her artistic journey.
Patti Smith possesses a unique ability to evoke timeless and ancestral imagery while channeling a visceral energy that comes alive on stage. Through that intensity, she continues to celebrate her enduring passions: rock music, freedom of expression, writing and poetry, all woven into a single emotional experience.
The setlist will feature many of her most iconic works, including Horses, Easter, Dancing Barefoot, People Have the Power and Because the Night.
And just as she sings in Dancing Barefoot, Patti Smith continues to move across the stages of the world with the same energy, conviction and passion that have made her one of the most influential and beloved artists of the last half-century.
