FEDERICO MECOZZI

Biography

Federico Mecozzi (born in Rimini in 1992) is a violinist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist.
He began playing guitar and writing his first songs at the age of five. At twelve, he entered the “G. Lettimi” Conservatory in Rimini, where he studied violin and graduated with highest honors. Alongside his instrumental training, he also developed as an orchestra conductor and arranger.
Since 2009, he has been a longtime collaborator of renowned composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi, whom he continues to accompany on extensive international tours in some of the world’s most prestigious venues — including the Royal Albert Hall, Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall, and the Philharmonie Berlin — as well as contributing to studio recordings as both musician and musical assistant.
In the studio and on stage, he has also worked with and for artists such as Pacifico, Angelo Branduardi, Morgan, Enrico Nigiotti, Blonde Redhead, Remo Anzovino, Filippo Graziani, Andrea Mingardi, and I Ministri.
He was the youngest orchestra conductor at the Sanremo Music Festival in the 2019 edition (for Enrico Nigiotti) and again in 2021 (for Dellai), becoming one of the youngest conductors in the festival’s history.
In January 2019, he released Awakening (Warner Music Italy), his solo debut album, which led to an Italian and European tour later interrupted by the pandemic.
In October 2022, he followed with Inwards (Warner Music Italy), his second album, presented in numerous Italian theatres.
Federico Mecozzi’s music places the violin at its core, weaving together classical, folk, electronic, and world music influences into a distinctive and contemporary sound.
