GINEVRA DI MARCO & FRANCO ARMINIO

Biography

Ginevra Di Marco, among the most refined performers on the Italian scene, in her artistic journey crosses faces, sounds, memories, makes her songs in different languages, compares herself with Italian and international artists in a continuous musical and human exchange.
The songs of Ginevra Di Marco, who interprets the social and civil lyrics of folk and popular music, as well as songs from her personal history merges her interpretive universe with the poems of Franco Arminio, creating a new show.
“It used to be the world,” a verse from a CSI song, gives the title of the evening to remind us of what the world used to be and what it is becoming, through folk songs, popular poetry, songwriting, intimate and festive moments.
Franco Arminio was born and lives in Bisaccia, in eastern Irpinia. He has published many books, which have reached tens of thousands of readers. He has spearheaded many actions against the depopulation of inland Italy and has conceived the House of Landscapes in Bisaccia, has been carrying on for more than ten years the Festival “La luna e i calanchi” in Aliano (MT) whose editions have been attended by thousands of people, and conducts on Rai 3 “La biblioteca dei sentimenti” in the 2024/25 television season.

“We are close in our outlook on life, being sensitive to silence, to the margins, to the non-clamor, to the beauty of abandoned villages, to the sacred around us that our hectic lives no longer contemplate, visions that we instead feel are motive and purpose, among others, of our music.”
