Biography
The world-renowned Harlem Gospel Choir is synonymous with powerful vocals, glorious sound and infectious energy. For nearly four decades, it has been America’s premier gospel choir, touring the world and captivating audiences with the inspirational power of Black gospel music.
The Harlem Gospel Choir has performed alongside global superstars including Bono of U2, Diana Ross, Gorillaz, André Rieu, and more recently Sam Smith, Damon Albarn and Pharrell Williams. They have also performed for three heads of state—President Barack Obama, President Jimmy Carter, and President Nelson Mandela—as well as for two Popes, John Paul II and Benedict XVI. The choir has recorded with artists such as Sir Keith Richards, The Chieftains and Trace Adkins.
Following the acclaimed Harlem Gospel Choir Sings Nina Simone tour in 2022, the ensemble returned to the road in 2023 with Celebrating 60 Years of Whitney Houston, a tribute marking the sixtieth anniversary of the legendary singer’s birth.
In 2024, the choir toured with a special production dedicated to the extraordinary Aretha Franklin, while in 2025 they return with a vibrant and uplifting concert experience that blends the roots of gospel music with the irresistible energy of soul, inspired by the legendary Motown tradition.
