Federico Bellone describes The Prince of Egypt – The Musical with one defining word:
“Epic.”
“That is the word that best describes this production in all its grandeur.
Once again, I find myself revisiting one of the most vivid memories of my childhood. After Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Anastasia, The Prince of Egypt was an animated film of indescribable power, with its grand crowd scenes—reminiscent of Ben-Hur—and its sublime, majestic score.
It is a story of faith and community set against the backdrop of a monumental Egypt, seen through the eyes of the whole family. It is also a story of forgiveness, filled with theatrical possibilities that the creative team I have shared so many productions with—including The Phantom of the Opera and Anastasia—is eager to bring to life in a surprising and emotionally compelling way.
This is a production that aspires to be a miracle for the entire family, continuing the tradition of theatre as a place where everyone can come together. Theatre is a magical place, and our greatest joy is seeing audiences believe in miracles—When You Believe...”*
