Biography

The Philip Glass Ensemble is the musical ensemble founded by renowned composer Philip Glass in 1968 to perform his own experimental minimalist compositions.

Since then, the Ensemble has continued to perform and record up to the present day under the musical direction of keyboardist Michael Riesman. Over the past 30 years, the group has performed across four continents in some of the world’s most prestigious theatres and festivals.
The Philip Glass Ensemble is the exclusive performer of Glass’s repertoire.
