Twenty years after the release of Okumuki, the album that marked both her debut and first major breakthrough, L’Aura celebrated this milestone with two exclusive anniversary concerts. Accompanied by the Gnu Quartet, she performed the album in its entirety, bringing it back to the stage for the first time in fifteen years in its most complete form. The events took place on 24 April 2026 at the Blue Note in Milan and on 30 April 2026 at Sala Umberto in Rome.
Released in the early 2000s, Okumuki quickly became a landmark album, capturing the spirit of a generation through deeply personal, intense and instantly recognizable songwriting. It was a debut that successfully balanced fragility and vision, introspection and international openness, laying the foundations for L’Aura’s artistic journey. Songs such as Irraggiungibile have stood the test of time, remaining alive in the collective memory while continuing to resonate with new listeners discovering them today.
The songs from Okumuki had not been performed live for many years and, through this anniversary celebration, were given new life at the centre of two special concerts. In Milan and Rome, L’Aura performed the album in full alongside Gnu Quartet members Stefano Cabrera (cello), Francesca Rapetti (flute), Raffaele Rebaudengo (viola) and Roberto Izzo (violin), in a reinterpretation that highlighted both its emotional depth and narrative strength. Alongside the complete album tracklist, the concerts also featured a selection of cover songs that inspired the writing of Okumuki, offering audiences a glimpse into the artistic and cultural landscape from which the record emerged.
“Okumuki is the album of an introvert speaking to other introverts, showing them that it is possible to step outside their shell despite the fear of not making it. It does so by welcoming them into its world, inviting them to become part of it, protecting and supporting them in their journey of self-discovery. It is music that can speak to new generations as well, because it tells the story of a time when music was created together, in real time. It is music that sings of a lost era when imagination and dreams were tools for understanding reality more deeply.” — L’Aura
The return to the stage coincided with an important discographic release. On 24 April 2026, the day of the first concert, Okumuki was released on vinyl for the very first time in a restored and remastered edition. Published by Sony Music as a special double 180-gram black vinyl set, the release also includes two previously unreleased acoustic versions of Irraggiungibile and Today, recorded in 2025 together with the Gnu Quartet.
