ASSOCIAZIONE SPONZIAMOCI

Sponz Fest

The relationship between culture and earth culture will be the theme of Sponz Coultura, the tenth edition of the Fest conceived and directed by Vinicio Capossela, which will take place from 21 to 27 August in Alta Irpinia.

Programmed and financed by the Campania Region through Scabec – Società Campana Beni Culturali, the Sponz Fest is produced by the Associazione Sponziamoci, La Cupa and International Music and Arts (IMARTS), in collaboration with the municipalities of Andretta, Calitri, Sant’Andrea di Conza and for the first time in collaboration with the Calitri Youth Forum.

This edition will also see the precious contribution, alongside the workers and craftsmen, of the community that has been participating and supporting the event for years.

As has been the case since 2013, the Sponz Fest will take place in Alta Irpinia, this time in the municipalities of Sant’Andrea di Conza, Andretta and Calitri, and will involve musicians, artists and personalities from the world of culture who through concerts – including the final evening Saturday 27 August in the company of the super band Rolling Sponz Review and other guests – workshops, meetings and sound and thematic itineraries among the paths will explore the theme of this edition.

Sponz Coultura wants to think about the idea of cultivating: cultivating the land, but also ideas, thoughts, civic sense.

“Year after year, we try to direct the art of meeting in some thematic direction”, declares the artistic director Vinicio Capossela. For this 2022 we have set ourselves the theme of cultivating, in the double meaning of culture and cultivation. Hence the O that meets the U, as Jacopo Leone graphically declined, becoming a kind of horned pictogram which is the symbol of the edition. Thinking about culture and growing means thinking about what we are made of, what we eat and what we grow. On the relationship with the earth, with the earth’s resources and also with ours. About what we consume and what we leave behind. On what we cultivate and what we corrupt.

Italy is in fact a country of countries that emerged from the sea of land cultivation. However, intensive agriculture, soil consumption, the climate emergency and the depopulation of inland areas are profoundly changing the natural and human landscape of the world in which we live. Starting from these and other related issues – the fight against food waste, the protection of biodiversity, forestation and deforestation – Sponz Coultura offers a reflection on our lifestyle and its sustainability, working in synergy with those who live and protect the area every day.

The verb sponzare comes from the action of the sponge which, once soaked, softens and regenerates. Capossela continues. So is the body of the group which when “sponzato” loses rigidity, shape and edges, and by absorbing it expands and welcomes and puts it back into circulation.

Sponz Fest is more a spirit than a festival, a way of experiencing forms of mobile community.

This is why, after the happy experience in 2021 at the Pietra di Bismantova, the Sponz Fest has returned to broaden its borders by proposing two days of conversations, excursions, concerts and readings in Emilia-Romagna, in Sogliano al Rubicone in July. A sort of preview of the fest to create a bridge between Apennine places.

We try to solicit this spirit through music, but also through food, drink, dance and above all through encounters in the intersection with the natural landscape and human nature, concludes the artistic director.

Among the confirmed musical guests of Sponz Coultura (the program is constantly updated), as well as Vinicio Capossela, Nada, Edda, Giovanni Truppi, Bobby Solo, Mara Redeghieri, John De Leo, Micah P. OPERA DELLA PRIMAZIALE PISANA

Opera della Primaziale Pisana (O₽A) is a non-profit organization created to supervise the construction of the monuments in Piazza del Duomo, governed by its own statute which defines the protection, promotion and enhancement of its heritage, so that its religious and artistic meanings are passed on to future generations.

Anima Mundi

Born in 2001 from an artistic idea proposed by Maestro Giuseppe Sinopoli, the festival of sacred music Anima Mundi has developed thanks to the fruitful contribution of the Artistic Director M° Sergio Sablich, who passed away in 2005, to become a consolidated appointment among the most important and prestigious nationally.

From the sixth edition in 2006 until 2018, the artistic director of Anima Mundi has been Sir John Eliot Gardiner, who with his choices considerably strengthened the extraordinary relationship between music and the architecture that houses it, while the nineteenth edition in 2019 was entrusted to Daniel Harding. After the forced suspension of 2020 due to the pandemic emergency, the review restarted with a new and prestigious artistic director who continued the English line of the many editions signed in previous years: Sir Trevor Pinnock.

The review, which includes 7 concerts held in the incomparable settings of the Cathedral and the Camposanto, is generally scheduled in September and October.
