Bio

Vasco Brondi, born in 1984 and raised between Ferrara and Emilia, became known to the general public with the artistic/musical project Le Luci della centrale elettrica.
A project whose first songs find a form and an initial collocation in the self-produced demo of the same name in 2007 distributed by the artist directly at the concerts. These are ten songs, which immediately highlight an original writing and an out of the ordinary expressive force, and for this reason they do not go unnoticed. In a small town, Ferrara, where it is difficult not to know each other and impossible not to meet, the road of Vasco Brondi crosses that of Giorgio Canali, the disturbed guitar of the CSI and a sui generis musician, rough and radical in his approach. Thus was born ``Canzoni da Spiaggia deturpata``, the first album by le luci della centrale elettrica produced in collaboration with Canali and published by La Tempesta, one of the main independent Italian labels, created by the Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti.

Vasco Brondi's training path is omnivorous, whose strength is represented by the confluence of different and complementary artistic languages in the evolution of technological scenarios: music, of course, cinema, comics, video clips, illustration, painting , dancing and writing on the one hand. Internet, blogs, the explosion of social networks on the other. But in truth, far from summarizing a decade, Le luci della centrale elettrica have just begun their journey.
Confirming the close link between Vasco Brondi and the world of illustration then arrives, at the end of 2012, the volume ``Come le strisce che lasciano gli aerei`` (Coconino Press/Fandango Libri), a graphic novel centered on the encounters of the three characters , Micol (whose name pays homage to the protagonist of ``Il Giardino dei Finzi-Contini``, a novel by another illustrious Ferrarese, Giorgio Bassani), Rachid the North African and Rico.
2012 is, for the rest, a year during which Vasco Brondi travels a lot between Europe and the United States, where he moves for a few months living between New York and San Francisco. In parallel with the travels, he begins to write and collect the ideas that will form the first nucleus of the new work. Once back in Italy, the actual writing phase of the disc follows, interrupted only by the three performances of a show entitled “Cronache emiliane. Letture elettrificates colonne sonore e fotografie”, a sort of journey in Emilia that alternates original music, distorted covers and texts by Gianni Celati, Pier Vittorio Tondelli and Luigi Ghirri with the latter's photographs used as scenery. The show is also a way of paying homage to his land, Emilia, hit hard by the earthquake that occurred a year earlier, in May 2012.

“Costellazioni”, this is the title of the third study work of the lights of the power station, was published on March 4, 2014 with an artwork created by another great visual artist such as Gianluigi Toccafondo. In 2015 he signed the song ``L'estate addosso`` with Lorenzo Jovanotti, which became the most broadcast song on the radio in the summer of the same year. In April 2016 the book ``ANIME GALLEGGIANTI SOULS, DALLA PIANURA AL MARE PASSANDO PER I CAMPI`` was published by the newly founded publishing house ``La Nave di Teseo``, written with Massimo Zamboni. His new album, TERRA, was released in March 2017: the album was voted among the best records of the year in the referendum of the Sole24Ore periodical ``IL`` while the song ``Chakra`` was voted by the rockit.it website. as the second most beautiful Italian song of 2017. On 17 September 2018 a single was announced to be released on 21 September, Mistica, which will accompany the publication of a double disc on 5 October, the 2008/2018 collection, between Via Emilia and Via Lattea which contains two unreleased tracks, Mistica and Libera.
On October 3 Brondi communicates that this album will be the last work that will bear the name of the project, which will see its end following a tour in theaters throughout Italy.
He returns to perform live in the summer of 2020 with the show ``TALISMANI PER TEMPI INCERTI`` where songs, poems, readings and reflections are mixed. The show becomes a live album released in December 2020. On May 7, 2021 he releases the new album PAESAGGIO DOPO LA BATTAGLIA which debuts in third place overall in the best-selling albums chart in Italy.
The album is accompanied by two author video clips: ``Chitarra Nera``, directed by Daniele Vicari, starring Elio Germano and ``Ci abbracciamo``, with the participation of Stefano Accorsi.
Of the latter song, in June 2021, a remix version signed by Lorenzo ``Jovanotti`` Cherubini was created.
