After last summer’s successful tour in seven Italian cities, David Garrett, icon in the world of music and internationally renowned artist who, with his violin, enchanted the most prestigious theaters in the world, returns with the “ICONIC tour”. In Italy, the only date for spring 2024 will be in Milan at the TAM Teatro Arcimboldi Milan, Monday 22 April 2024.
The tour takes its name from Garrett’s latest studio work signed by Deutsche Grammophon, a tribute to legendary 20th century performers such as Heifetz, Kreisler, Francescatti, Grumiaux, Menuhin and many others. The album contains over twenty famous songs revisited in a modern key, to bring to light forgotten works of the era of the great virtuosos, with completely new and modern arrangements for which Garrett collaborated with his former teacher, the renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman , and with artists of international caliber such as the tenor Andrea Bocelli, the flautist Cocomi and the trumpeter Till Brönner.
On stage the iconic songs from the album that have always fascinated the boy David and made him the great violinist he is today, are performed in a trio with the David Garrett Trio: David Garrett on violin and in the role of creative director, Franck van der Heijden on guitar and Rogier van Wegberg on bass.
“Unfortunately, many splendid works from the times of the great virtuosos have sunk into oblivion. That’s why having the opportunity to bring these magnificent pieces back to life really means the world to me.” – says David Garrett.
Thus the immortal melodies of Bach, Vivaldi, Dvořák, Saint-Säens, Gluck, Kreisler, Mozart, Schumann will come to new life in a one-of-a-kind show.
