Tony Hadley, one of the most renowned male voices in the world, who recently surprised the audience at the Teatro Arcimboldi in Milan with a surprise performance together with Elio and Le Storie Tese during a date of their tour “MI RESTA UN SOLO DENTE E CERCO DI RIAVVITARLO” (visible at the link https://youtu.be/qoKmJ_bN7PM?si=3td1CnQ9RH538IKc), had already mentioned some news on that occasion. Tony has in fact revealed that he will return to Italy in 2024 with a new tour and a new album.
The release of the new album is expected in the first months of 2024 and will arrive 5 years after his last studio work “Talking To The Moon” to mark a new phase in his career.
The tour will start in February and the first announced dates, that of February 22nd at the Teatro Comunale of Cesenatico (FC) and that of February 23rd at the Teatro Comunale of Carpi (MO) are already SOLD OUT. To these are added two new stages: that of February 24th in Rome, Auditorium of the Rome Convention Center La Nuvola in Eur, included in the EUR Culture per Roma series of shows, produced by EUR SpA and that of February 21st at the Palaunical in Mantua .
It will be an opportunity to celebrate once again one of the most authoritative voices of pop, now on the crest of the wave for 4 decades, which saw its debut with the New Romantic movement, interpreting over the years songs that have now become cult by Spandau Ballet such as the epic “Through the Barricades”, the international chart-topper “True”, and the unofficial anthem of the London Olympics “Gold”. On this trip to the peninsula Tony will therefore perform iconic songs from the period in which he was with Spandau Ballet, but also his solo songs, without leaving out some covers.
Italy has always been one of Tony Hadley’s most loved country, a love that was greatly reciprocated. After various collaborations with Italian artists (with Caparezza in “Goodbye Malinconia”, with Nina Zilli in “Fairytale of New York”), in 2019 he was a guest at the Sanremo Festival, accompanying Arisa, in the competition, in the song “Mi felt good” , then at Propaganda Live on La Sette, where he performed “Through the Barricades” and the single “Obvious”, finally, this year, a very entertaining appearance as Fiorello on “Viva Radio2”.
