After the release of the album “ERI CON ME” with sixteen songs by Franco Battiato

THE TOUR “ERI CON ME  ALICE AND CANTA BATTIATO” STARTS ON MARCH 15TH IN ITALIAN THEATERS

In trio with Carlo Guaitoli (piano) and Chiara Trentin (cello)

Pre-sales open

“ERI CON ME” (ARECIBO/ BMG) is ALICE’s album containing sixteen songs by FRANCO BATTIATO, recorded in the studio with Carlo Guaitoli (piano, direction), already a special collaborator of Battiato himself for over twenty years, and I Solisti Filarmonici Italiani. This recording project, critically acclaimed and available on CD, vinyl and digitally, has its natural continuation in Alice’s tour which will start on March 15th and will first arrive in theaters throughout Italy and then in open-air locations.

“ERI CON ME A L I C E CANTA BATTIATO” is the new live tour 2023, which continues with new songs in the lineup taken from the recent album, such as Da Oriente a Occidente and Sui giardini della preesistenza, and others that instead have long belonged to the live repertoire and record of Alice, such as La cura, songs from Battiato’s different compositional periods, and those born from their numerous collaborations starting from 1980 and which they wrote together such as Per Elisa, their duets including I Treni di Tozeur and also the songs Battiato has written more recently for Alice such as Veleni and Eri con me, which gives the title to the album and the tour.
Alice, with her unique vocal personality and an ever-evolving artistic path, once again becomes an instrument of Franco Battiato’s music and of what he has transmitted, through the songs she feels she fully adheres to.

In the trio formation, the warm timbre of Chiara Trentin‘s cello is added to the consolidated concert, with Alice accompanied by Carlo Guaitoli on the piano. For some special concerts this summer, Alice will instead be accompanied by the I Solisti Filarmonici Italiani orchestra, with Carlo Guaitoli on piano and conduction.

The tour is produced and organized by IMARTS.

The album “Eri con me” (https://bmgitaly.lnk.to/alice_ericonmePR) sees its roots in the artistic collaboration between Alice and Franco Battiato which began in 1980 with the single “Il vento caldo dell’estate” and the “Capo Nord” album. With “Gioielli rubati” of 1985, for the first time Alice interpreted songs by Battiato not written for her, then for many years and in many recording projects she resumed her usual role as singer-songwriter until 2003, in which “Viaggio in Italia” was released, an album of covers only dedicated to great Italian authors; here there were two Battiato songs, but in the concerts that followed they increased more and more, due to Alice’s renewed pleasure in interpreting his compositions. Later there will be other collaborations between Alice and Franco Battiato, such as for the album “Samsara” with “Eri con me” from 2012 and for the album “Weekend” with “Veleni” from 2014.
In 2016 the opportunity also arrived for the very long extraordinary tour together “Battiato and Alice”. In 2020 Alice began the “Alice Canta Battiato” tour together with Carlo Guaitoli, as pianist and conductor, which was attended by various ensembles.
Francesco Messina writes in the preface of the disc: «The songs included in the album are largely those heard in concerts, but not entirely. In fact, if some of these already belonged to Alice’s recording repertoire (for example “The trains of Tozeur”, “Prospettiva Nevski” and the same “Eri con me”), many others are decidedly unpublished for her. These include a new version of “Da Oriente a Occidente” (from the album “Sulle Corde di Aries”), “L’addio” which Franco co-authored with Mino Di Martino and Ippolita Avalli and “Torneremo ancora”, the last song written and recorded by him; a song he really cared about a lot».

The album’s tracklist:
1 Da Oriente a Occidente
2 Eri con me
3 Lode all’inviolato
4 Io chi sono?
5 E ti vengo a cercare
6 La cura
7 Povera patria
8 L’addio
9 Il re del mondo
10 L’animale
11 La stagione dell’amore
12 Chanson egocentrique
13 I treni di Tozeur
14 Prospettiva Nevski
15 Sui giardini della preesistenza
